2007 Poker Run

5 Bars - 5 Cards - Downtown Anchorage - SAT 7/21/07

With 60+ participants, we kick-started our poker hands at Humpy's with our first beer and two cards. Then we hit the streets of downtown Anchorage, visiting Snowgoose (gorgeous weather; incredibles views--we squeaked out some seats and stayed awhile), Platinum Jaxx (darker, cooler, quieter) and Avenue Bar (dark but with pool, foosball, a good mix of music and the best head poured from a bottle of Sockeye). We enjoyed the sunshine and built our poker hands along the way. The last stop, McGinley's, hosted the crowd for determination of the grand prize winner then numerous raffle drawings.

THANKS to our host bars and their bartenders who dealt out cards to our participants along the way. THANKS to NOVA River Runners for donating the fabulous grand prize: a river rafting trip for four! THANKS to the Anchorage Press and the Anchorage Downtown Partnership for sponsoring and promoting the event.
