YiKers! We are swimming in a sea of BeeR. It's OCT and now we've got too many beers for our 18-tap system. OK, OK -- two of those taps are dedicated to our housemade soda: root beer and lemon fizz. BuT we've had to displace some of the usual suspects to offer uP a mighty fine selection of seasonal and specialty brewskis. It's all good, right. Yeah, yeah...it's all good until someone whines about not having amber on. Well, Oosik Man, maybe you should venture out a little--try the AutumnFest lager...or Ale Slayers Pale Ale. And if you really wanna gun it up, Full Curl Scotch Ale hits all the malt-lovin' tastebuds but hard. Well, harder than amber anyway. Sometimes it's good to be forced out of your cozy comfort zone. It only hurts for a bit. Trust me. We wouldn't be making highly hopped, oak-aged, bugged up beers on a regular basis if everyone stayed in the Amber Zone. And just so U completely understand by position, I am not dis'ing amber; I am just saying there is much more to the beer world than amber sO it's good to drink outside your normal boundaries on occasion. FYI - we can provide hand-holding and/or talk-U-thru-it services for very reasonable fees. [Services vary based on beerista on duty. Fee amounts are not posted and are subject to change--read: increase--at whim. Batteries not included...but are they ever?] And now I need to end this run-way-away paragraph before our fabulous beeristas kiLL me! To finish this sandwich...YiKers!
Today two MORE amazing beers hit the taps: the oak-aged version of the commemorative beer brewed for our AK distributor's 30th Anniversary--Specialty Imports' XXX Specialty Beer: Black Double IPA--and Gabe's collaborative beer with Colby of Ballast Point in San Diego, 3767 Belgian-style IPA with Brettanomyces aged in French oak Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. Dude, I'm out of breath. Go on. I'll catch up...
Any knitters out there? We're startin' up KNIT NIGHT @ MSBC. Current day/time is SUN @ 2 PM. We'll adjust based on "rushes" once the kitchen opens later this fall. I'm calling it KNIT NIGHT but obviously we're meeting in the afternoon and you can crochet, embroider, quilt, cross-stitch, crewel, macrame, etc. It's an all-ages gig. Bring your projects and your teaching skills. :)
