Today three draft beers hit the taps: Trickster Belgian-style Pumpkin Ale with cardamom and nutmeg; AutumnFest Lager; and [the return of] Obliteration V Double IPA. Trickster 22's will show up next week but the other two beers are draft only.
OK...join us on SAT OCT 31 - yes, Halloween - for OWLoween. Bird TLC is bringing their fabulous owls and ravens to our Loft from 2 - 6 PM for a fundraiser. We are playing host to these BiG, amazing creatures but the real star of the show is a little crow that LoVes to take dollar bills from customers and stuff the Bird TLC donation jar. He'll be front and center so make sure you bring ca$h to keep him busy. We'll give out a $25 MSBC gift card at 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 PM for the "best costume of the hour" sO wear your costumes!!

Hey, if you want to go KEG, check out this link. There is a LoT of good info on the web if you want to build-yer-own kegerator by converting an old refrigerator. Maybe you have a quiet corner in your garage that beckons to frequent more visitors? But if you don't build, you can just BUY one and stash it in your kitchen or dining|/living space or basement. Standard fridge space allows for one 15.5G keg or three 5.16G kegs. If you only drink Sockeye Red IPA then you don't need 3 kegs + 3-tap tower BuT if you like to offer more than one flavaH, trade out the standard one-up for the 3-way. U will definitely 3-up the neighbors in the first visit...and THaT is completely worth the initial investment. Then you rent kegs from us [Sankey set-up] or buy kegs that we can clean|fill for you. It's green, convenient aNd seXy. Besides a compostable textured condom, how many things can you say that about? Don't panic--it was rhetorical. [And don't freak--the "h" is silent. Remember yer RUMBAH lesson.]
During the next HASH WED [5 - 8 PM], we will host a moose-calling contest. CoHoHo Imperial IPA is back for FALL/WINTER. Meltdown is on its way out. We are keeping Old Whiskers Hefeweizen on year-round now although we are out this week. We're brewing OW on MON so it'll be back on tap by 10/23. Funny...'cause we were just serving OW with the pomegranate syrup and calling it "Whisker Burn". Hmm, maybe that's why we ran through The Rest so quickly...
Wanna RUMBAH? Well, you will after a bit of this Double Rum Bock aged in pirated rum barrels. arRRGHh--it's good. SmooTH doppelbock, which--if you're reading along in your beer styles guide--is a dark[er] strong[er] German lager. Serving as Liquid Bread for fasting monks for centuries. beeravocate.com lists the average range at 6.5% - 9.0% ABV. Why be average? RUMBAH rocks in at 10% ABV. The scant 30 IBUs gives it an intense malt focus. So while you won't get HoPs in this beer, you will feel The Love of the WooD in which it aged. Smooth sailin'? I think KnoT.

Beer/Food Pairing of the Week: Marko and I hit Kinley's for lunch the other day. We split the ahi tuna tacos and a halibut BLT. I know this is going to shock you--NoT!--but I went Panty Peeler and Marko went hops with Fish oN! IPA from Sleeping Lady. The meal was fabulous as always BuT I was eyeing the dinner menu. I gotta get back there in the evening for the Moroccan Lamb Shank with MSBC's Venus Quadrupel. The lamb is accompanied by couscous, figs and a luscious sauce which pairs perfectly with the depth and darkness of Venus. You will certainly NoT miss yer glass of vino with this pairing. Go mid-town!
We'll have Ale Slayer jerseys for sale in The Loft this weekend: $60 each. There are black-on-gold and gold-on-black versions. Support LoCaL beer! Wear yer jersey to the Aces and Sea Wolves games. Wear yer jersey while you rake leaves...or walk to the mail box...or arm-chair your favorite sports on SUN. I've seen you slay an aLe or two. You can definitely don The Jersey.
