To celebrate 2008 -- although we've only released 7 of the 9 Planet Beers, Humpy's is hosting our Planet Beer series dinner on WED, 01/14. And we will add Zeus -- the draft version of Jupiter -- to make 8 beers. Do the math. Six delightful courses + eight beers = 4 hours of relaxing dining pleasure. $75/seat. The first beer is poured at 6 PM. Humpy's Chef TiM will RoCK iT. You know THaT. And MSBC beers will RoCKeT. OrBiT[s] will ensue. CaB rYdes HoMe are required. Call Humpy's at 276-BEER.

As you gear up for GABBF, seek out 22-oz bottles of Specialty Imports' 30th Anniversary Specialty Beer--a black double IPA. The original beer will be available beginning FRI 1/16. Then an oak-aged version will be released this fall.

This year's Great Alaska Beer & Barley Wine Fest will be held at the Egan Center on FRI 1/16 and SAT 1/17. For tickets, go to auroraproductions.net. Advance tickets are suggested as these sessions fill up quickly...and who wants to stand outside in sub-zero temps looking in the glass at the beery fest-goers? I don't dO lines so it's definitely NoT mE.

Three GABBF Tasting Sessions:

FRI 5 PM - 10 PM
SAT 2 PM - 5 PM This is the Connoisseurs Session [with special beers]
SAT 6 PM - 10 PM

This the second year for the Connoisseurs Session. Last year's inaugural session was very successful. Breweries are asked to pour a special beer that is not available in the other sessions...sO if you want to talk with brewers/brewery staff in a less chaotic session and enjoy some special beers, this is the GeeK session for you/mE. Buy your tickets early! MSBC's special beer for this session is Berserker Imperial Stout. U know the story, U know the song, U know the beer. Be HeRe. [If U don't, watch CLERKS.]

We'll release RondyBrew 2009, which is an American Pale Ale, on FRI 1/30. It'll be available in 22-oz'ers and draft through MAR. Fur Rondevous--ie "Rondy" runs FRI 2/27 through SUN 3/08. This year's label will feature the Running of the Reindeer event, which happens on SUN 3/01...DOWNTOWN. Be TheRe.
