Dear Seekers of Things to Ring in The Season:

When I say URANUS comes out on Friday, the proper response is...nO, URanus comes out on Friday. I know, it's sO second grade but, regardless of my elementary school humor, this beer is FaBuLous. And it's our first beer produced with 100% Brettanomyces fermentation and conditioning. It was brewed back in MAR then slowly fermented with Brett, packaged, then slowly conditioned with Brett. It is golden, refreshing and a little tarT. We'll pour some samples during its release so you can preview its exquisite and interesting flavor. Cafe Amsterdam will have it on TaP today...or very soon. Yeah, I want to hear beertender Will Miller's response when you order. Maybe you should start with with a low-key "How's URANUS?"... I will bet yer booTie that WiLL will take it from there.

You survived T-Day, The Relatives and Black FRI. Now it's time to sit back and enjoy something special rights about now. I'm thinkin' Arctic Devil Barley Wine 2008. Aged in American oak whiskey barrels, Arctic Devil gives good biTe.

The neXt Planet Beer--JUPITER--is a Champagne-style Tripel. We are shooting for a pre-NYE release. Thus far, this beer was brewed, fermented, aged, packaged and bottle-conditioned. It is now in its riddling stage--except that it's Gabe's version of riddling: neck down in cases, on metal tables which are vibrated daily to knock down the yeast sediment. The final steps include chilling the beer, freezing the bottle necks, degorging the yeast plug, dosing [replacing the lost volume with more JUPITER], and then corking + caging. And, then--of course--the most important steps: decaging, decorking, pouring and dRinKing!

Now Available:
Son of a B[erserker]. 8% ABV. Whatever IBUs. This is a malt-centric beer so hops are not the feature. This is "Son of Berserker" - second runnings, usually called "small beer", of Berserker Imperial Stout. So at 8% ABV, "small" is relative--literally, as this little guy is the son of a great beer. No oak aging. But taste iT. This beer is completely incredible. And at $12.50/growler, iT is a complete steal. Buy NoW before I raise the price.

VENUS is oh-sO amaZing. This beer is dark and dreamy with accents of star anise and licorice. 14.3% ABV. Lush, lovely, luxurious. Perfection in beer form. Even you wack-job hop-heads can take a 30-minute break-from-BiTTeR and enjoy the incredible darkness of being...FaBuLous.

Obiteration IV--or OB4--is BiG JuiCy HoPs that amp uP a double decker wheat base. This is Brewer Ben's outta-the-park HiT. On draft for growler- and keg-fills as well as 22's for immediate consumption. Amarillo, Chinook and Simcoe hops rock this one ouT. TiP yer hats to Ben for this delicious elixir.

Arctic Devil Barley Wine 2008 provides asylum from The Season. Come in, grab a bottle or siX, then head home. We know you bought ADBW with every intention of cellaring it BuT 'tis the season to do good unto yerself. Crack open one of these bad boys and hit the couch with snifter in tow. You've been a very good do-gooder all year long. Now it's time to siT and reflect on the positive and plan some greedless deeds for next year. And..to think...there's just but one of you. How do U do iT?

Up and coming: We are working on our 2009 Crew Brews series. At the moment, nine of us head into 2009. As our little company is about to grow eXponentially in the next year, we want to celebrate the NINE of us that are present in this time and space. We are fearless but, alas, never beerless. The NINE of us will each create an incredible beer to be released during 2009 that will represent--in some eccentric way--the eclecticness of the such of us. Buckle uP, Baby, for the future is sO bright I gotta wear BeeR goggles.

We've got LoTs of FaBuLouS, FRiVoLouS FuN for you this winter...and beYond.

Come by the brewery. The BeeR is aLways BOLD.

Cheers,
Barb
