PRIDE Belgian-style Strong Pale Ale aged in French oak Chardonnay barrels with Brettanomyces WoN SILVER at GABF 2008 in Denver last weekend!!

PRIDE won silver at World Beer Cup in San Diego in April and just won silver at Great American Beer Fest in Denver. Yes, we are prideful but, unfortunately, not so full of PRIDE. I'm down to the last bottle in my personal stash. BuT...Good News: the boyz brewed another batch of PRIDE and transferred it into those same "bugged up" barrels for release in [early] 2009. In the meantime, enjoy our little Fallen Planet: PLUTO Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale was aged in the above-mentioned crazy sick "PRIDE" barrels--sO bad they, uh, make good incredible BeeR.

October is HeRe. No grass to mow or boats to tow but lots and more of snow to blow. And we are putting out the goods to warm you uP, cooL you down, and get you readied for that long, dark dot [ok...maybe it's more of a period] we call WiNTeR. And...as fair warning, the last few beers we've released have not hung out long. The Viking - one week. Berserker - just beyond one week. Imperial Chocolate Pumpkin Porter - should have a bit more staying power as we brewed a double batch -- but it's moving so don't risk it -- buy what you want for NoW and to CeLLaR. Then ReLaX...like the Type-A squirrel who stores up for "worst case scenario" by mid-AUG then torments the other still-at-iTs with raves of his/her cellared fare. Don't be The One saying "oH, nuts...I'm outta NuTz!" in the midst of this weary winter.

Hey, are you looking for a firkin beer? Get over to Cafe Amsterdam on SAT 10/18 at 6 PM for a firkin of Imperial Chocolate Pumpkin Porter.

Or, if you're in Seattle this weekend, check out Elysian's Pumpkin Beer Fest SAT 10/18 noon to 10 PM at the Capitol Hill [original] location. A keg of our Imperial Chocolate Pumpkin Porter was fast-freighted down for the event!!

To get a very special PREVIEW of SATURN, be at O'Brady's Burgers and Brew on Huffman Rd on THU 10/30 from 5 - 8 PM. SATURN is our Belgian-style Fresh Hop IPA, brewed with fresh cut "wet" Cascade and Centennial hops from Yakima, WA. The hops were harvested, shipped and hand-tossed into the fermenter all within a few hours. Get your FIRST TASTE at O'BRADY'S on THU the 30th - 5 PM!! Bring yer hophead friends. Owner Mo is creating some appetizer specials for this post-harvest party.

On another eXcitng note...Maurice, or MO, of O'Brady's has created a completely fabulous beer bomb-tail that I think will sweep Anchor-town...and beyond. So for all of you his/her-storians and any/all beer-storians...here is the Point of Origin: pour Panty Peeler Trippel into a "pounder" [as Mo calls it--you know, a standard pint glass] but only pour 3/4's up. Then pour Patron Citronge...or Grand Marnier...or my fave Cointreau -- any fabulous orange liquer will work but I would stay away from Triple Sec or the like -- into a shot glass. When all hands are on deck, hang onto yer undies with one hand while U drop the orange junk into yer trunk [Panty Peeler] then slam iT down. Hang on tighT 'cuz this is a Panty Raid!!

Here's what we GoT for growler- and keg-fills at the brewery:

Humpback Jack Pumpkin Ale - draft only. This one will make U glow from the inside out. Pumpkin, sweet spices, and a whole LoTTa LoVe.

CoHoHo Imperial IPA - draft and 22's. SEP through MAR. Big juicy malt agmented by honey and brown sugaH then jumped with juniper berries.

Imperial Chocolate Pumpkin Porter - draft and 22's. Fill yer growlers and kegs with this delicious treat beer. Then share [or hoarde] your goods. It'll build character - but good or bad? That part is [always] up to you.

Part of the ICPP batch went into oak barrels - do U know JACK? U soon will.

Jack Daniel's American oak barrels with our brews/dates on the ends: SLOTH, last year's ICPP and this year's ICPP. Mmmm...
