Hey Seekers of BuNNyBooTed BeeR adVentures:
As FaLL falls all around you--leaves, Termination Dust, your summer-seeking spirit--don't fret but instead impel your impetus into auTumN: get out, come in, grab some of the season's BeST BeeRs [brought to U by yer favorite little-only-in-siZe-but-we-all-know-its-what-U-do-with-what-U-got-that-matters brewery in the Way Pacific Northwest], then enJoY the festive finds with friends and family before you're knee-deep in FLuFF, aka mY favorite SchTuFF. And U know U will be. But U could be as soon as next week if I'm reading my hop leaves correctly. So get out and taste auTumn-at-its-BeSTest in BeeR form:
Humpback Jack Pumpkin Ale: The 'Jack is BaCK. Pumpkin-skin color. Firm, fleshy body. Sweet spices - cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg. All of these uncomfortably-yet-successfully convene in our perennial gala-in-a-glass. HJ debuted last FRI at the brewery and the Fall Harvest Festival at the Conoco-Phillips atrium. Word is...iT was the FHF HiT - the keg blew before the half-way point. We've still got some flowing at the brewery. And when yer ouT-and-aBouT, pair a lovely glass of Humpback Jack Pumpkin Ale at Kinley's, TapRoot and Humpy's with a Halibut BLT, Schoobie Doobie and Halibut Tacos, respectivley...of course.
CoHoHo Imperial IPA: Oh YeaH...this is the winter WiNNeR...for mE...and all's y'all. U know what I know...oR you should step away from this aLe-maiL and get yer last 'Ho on before U come back. Period. ... ... ... R U still HeRe? Then I am assuming [and don't make me break that word ouT] that you are in the know of the CoHoHO. U either come along or stop poSin'. CoHoHo is now at Humpy's on the DowN end...O'Brady's on the South side...and Kinley's in the MiD-town. And on SAT 10/4 at 6 PM, CaFe A hosts CoHoHO-from-a-FirKin [ie. cask-conditioned beer, which means it was naturally conditioned...er, carbonated, for you newbies...in an English-size stainless keg that is 10.8 US gallons of pure FuN]. So first, check out Celestial Meads Open House from NooN to 5 PM on SAT then head over to CaFe A -- have a fabulous mead/beer-absorbing dinner --then stay for the FiRKiN. Yer CaB awaits, my dear beer friend... And you are a LucKy DucK that I don't start charging U for event-planning your weekends just yeT. But you can--aLways--BuY me a BeeR. :)
Hmmm...hmmm...hmmm...what else?...seems like there was SOMEthing else I needed to chat about... Oh, I KNoW...and it's a BiG biggie. One of those BeeRs that could NeVer slip my mind--and it didn't: Berserker Imperial Stout. I did mention that it's, uh, BiG, right?! Yeah, I always seem to get that part ouT. Berserker Imperial Stout is 12.7% ABV, oak-aged for several months in American oak whiskey barrels. It's FaBuLouS. It's FRiVoLouS. And it's likely to make me [U] FeeL like both. AND...it always always always breaks my know-when-to-say-when gauge. Can someone please [er...maybe NoT] build one that is Berserker-proof? To keep us [and I am including myself in this crazy fanbase] from filling growlers of this sO-in-yer-face-that-U-may-not-see-the-light-of-the-next-two-days beer, Berserker is only available in 22-oz'ers eXcept for these eXceptions: #1 - Humpy's will get a 7.75G keg [aka a quarter-barrel or pony keg] to pour against an old keg of Berserker [is it '05 or '07 - I'm not sure] and will also get another 7.75G keg to lay down to pour against next year's batch; #2 - TapRoot gets a 5.16G keg for its FRI, 10/31 Halloween party - you may want to pay for/man yer counter and parking spots NoW; and #3 MSBC is stashing some draft to pour at its new-but-not-yet-announced location. Coming this winter... oooOH...wahHH...OHHhhHH. Stay tuned. Stay tight. Don't let the beer bugs BiTe...unless, of course, they are the veRy right kind.
Next week...we release this year's Imperial Chocolate Pumpkin Porter--aka, ICPP. This BeeR has a [an inter-]national following. I'm already getting emails from ALL OVAH. Just the kind I like... So, if you're into this how-can-I-get-this-much-flavah-in-my-mouth-all-at-once kinda beer...you should, like, head over on FRI 10/10 and buy for you and yours. Several gallons of this batch went into oak barrels and we'll release the oak-aged version of ICPP later this winter. Again, the distribution is all local -- read: Anchor-town -- as the supply is LoW but the demand is HigH. And U are the reason why.
OK - oNe more thAng for this weekend. Ira Edwards--Great Northern Brewers Club Prez, Rossignol Ski Company Representative, Award-winning Homebrewer and Mead Maker, and All-around GooD GuY--is actually "working" this weekend to raise funds for Friends of the Chugach National Forest Avalanche Information Center [F-CNFAIC]. Two extraordinary films will be presented at the UAA Wendy Williamson Auditorium: THU 10-02 "Harmless" by Tough Guy Produtions [toughguyproductions.com]; FRI 10/03 "The Pact" by PowderWhore Productions [powderwhore.com]. For $10 tickets [$7 for UAA students], check out UAA Wendy Williamson Auditiorium for 7 PM and 9 PM showings. ALSO...Humpy's wll be hosting an after-party on THU from 9 PM to ?? Get over to Humpy's and drink beers from MSBC as MSBC beer sales will be donated directly to F-CHFAIC. It's all downhiLL, BaBy--sLeD, sKi, sNoWboard, sNowSHoe, sNowMaCHiNe, or BuNNy BooT--but DoN'T cHA aVaLanCHe down.
We've got LoTs of FaBuLouS, FRiVoLouS FuN for you this winter. Stay tuned...
Come by the brewery. The BeeR is aLways BOLD.
