Hey Seekers of ProperLy GeaRed BeeR aDventures:

It's SuMMeR. Much too much going on and I've fallen behind in my ale-mail [mis]adventures. So here's the catch-up...

Panty Peeler Tripel makes its re-debut this FRI 7/11 on draft and in 22's. Look for this free-spirited beer to [re]appear on retail shelves around the state this week and next. While 22's will be available year-round, draft is limited. Hit the brewery on FRI for samples and growler-and keg-fills...while supply lasts. A few BeeR spots in Anchor-town will host this delicious delight on tap: check out Mo's O'Brady's and TapRoot on the southside; Cafe Amsterdam and Kinley's in mid-town; and Humpy's and Cafe 817 downtown.

The Peeler's partner in crime, Monk's Mistress, will be re-released with its new label in AUG. [This is La Maitresse du Moine renamed in "American".] Yes, the Mistress is still a "dark strong ale", which btw is an actual beer style. Interestingly enough, while our federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau [TTB] approved the Panty Peeler [with a naked woman riding a caribou] label without a hitch, TTB will not allow the use of the word "strong" on labeling. Well, excuse me, but if I'm going to partake of an 11.5% ABV beer, I'd kinda like to have a clue. Additionally, TTB actually approved the use of "Dark Strong Ale" on our old La Maitress du Moine in 2003. When I re-submitted the new label using the old label as a reference, they said the old label never should have been approved. Hmmm...makes me wonder: someone must have been hittin' the "strong" stuff back in oh-three--unknowingly, of course.

Looks like the next Planet Beer to be released will be Pluto Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale, aged in French oak Chardonnay barrels with Brettanomyces, in late AUG. Planet Beers in 22-oz'ers are available @ MSBC, most Brown Jug stores [throughout Anchorage], Gold Rush [Southside], Value Liquor [Old Seward/Klatt] and La Bodega in the Univeristy Center [mid-town].

Bring yer house guests from hell to the brewery MON - SAT for beer and gear. With nine beers on tap and 18-20 beers in the cooler...plus LoTs of short- and long-sleeve tees [including the new Kodiak and MeltDown labels...and our two new "growler" designs], several hoodies, chick tees, hats, and glassware - we've got plenty to keep them busy for a couple weeks anyhow...and they can take home a bit of AK. Brewery tours = every FRI at 6 PM. See HOURS for more info.

Hey - all you growler guzzlers - GeaR uP! We've got growler KooZies to protect and insulate your beer. Finally, a way to keep yer JuGs from clanking together while you drive to and from the brewery. I know...we're always thinkin' of ya.

And...we've stocked TEES with these two "growler" designs:

Playing off the pop phrase "Go BiG oR Go HoME", I say: Go BiG AND Go HoMe.

Fill. Deplete. Rinse. Repeat. ALL steps are important - stop forgetting #3. :)

Looking for BReW? Come by the brewery. The BeeR is aLways BOLD.

Cheers,
