Hey Seekers of downtown Anchor-town BeeR:
This week we release our third Planet Beer MERCURY Small Beer, created from second runnings of mistress lover VENUS Quadrupel, which btw was spiced with star anise and now decadently lounges in oak barrels until its release later this year. All Planet Beers are "Belgian-style" as they are being fermented and conditioned with Belgian yeast but the actual "beer style" is ANYthang goes, Baby.
MERCURY is dark amber in color and, at 6.5% ABV, not a typical "small beer". For texture in taste, MERCURY was spiced with Indian coriander. Like its namesake Roman god, MERCURY represents commerce [being brewed from resourceful second runnings]; WiT [being crafted as "small beer" datsa not so small afterall--OK, so we're MSBC, living and brewing LaRGe in AK]; travel [being spiced with whole seed Indian coriander]; and wealth [being affluent in flavor and charm]. You'll get the message loud + clear but don't shoot this Messenger; just drink uP.
Wanna Space OuT? Join us at The Anchor Pub on THU 06/05 from 5 - 7 PM to get the first taste of this out-of-this-world brew. Get a raffle ticket for each MSBC beer you buy - prizes given out 'round 7 PM. Watch The Adventures of Buckazoo Bonzai across the 8th Dimension on Alaska's biggest BiG Screen. And enjoy "happy hour" appetizers specials 4:30 - 6:30 PM. The Anchor THU 5PM. Be there. Space ouT. Space is the new black.
We officially release MERCURY Belgian-style Small Beer at MSBC on FRI 06/06 from noon to 7 PM. Then our FIRST FLIGHT of this Planet Beer series occurs at First Taste Friday at McGinley's on FRI 06/06 5 PM to 8 PM. Try the FIRST THREE PLANET BEERS--MARS, EARTH, MERCURY--on draft in ONE venue... although I would highly suggest enjoying them in reverse release order for the sake of the 'buds. This is the FIRST FLIGHT of our space program. Meet us @ McGinley's.
A BiG THANKS to all of y'alls for supporting our Food Drive and participating in our Silent Auction. We raised about $1700 in beer sample sales and silent auction items and collected about 2 bins of food. The big ticket item was Jodie Barton's "hops" shovel. If you missed out on this metal art object, go to bafco.biz to check out his many other incredibly amazing works of art.
Looking for BReW? Come by the brewery. The BeeR is aLways BOLD.
