Hey Seekers of Just-Give-me-the-BeeR-InFo in a nice quiet email,

Whew! I just had a MaJoR encounter. The Man in my house, who also happens to be the Prez of the company--and, really, if I have to have one--my boss of sorts but only occasionally and only when I buy into it--asked me if I could possibly send out an email with just-the-facts-ma'am. [He used other words but I always sorta kinda use my own.] Well, of course, I said "nO". I was straight and to the point. I was polite. But here's the deal. If you are a busy beer guy/gal, maybe my ale-mail is not the thang for you. You can go to our web site 24/365 and get [almost] the same info on the main page's Heads uP section. I am keeping the web site up-to-date so this is a very valid option. BuT if you want NuTso-craZy, why-the-HeLL-does-it-take-me-30-minutes-to-get-3-minutes-worth-of-info and why-oh-WhY don't I have a beer in my hand? Oh, yeah, it's morning and I'm still at work...well, then, this aLe-MaiL is the way to gO.

I think I got this new format figured out. If I do [meaning, U can read this], shout me an aMen! 'cuz if I don't, you won't be able to read this so I am assuming I won't hear from U. [The dead silence is substantiating my worries but I will give you some time to receive, read and respond before I pretty much panic.]

This heading-into-MAY-but-uncomfortably-looks-like-OCT snow day was a beer blessing in disguise; it gave me a chance to hunker down and mess around with this html template/editing process. I know I recently threw around a phrase or two...something like, I don't know...old school, maybe, and I now believe that it was me and/or some of yer browsers that were not allowing me to be mE. [Frankly, I think it was more of the former and less of the latter but I needed a scapegoat.]

I am punching forward on this lil PC o' mine, hoping that you will be experiencing this ale-mail just exactly as I intended: crude quips, smart remarks and brutal observations all mixed up with that pesky yet pertinent brew news. But NoW with photos, art and links so everyone wins. How CooLio is thatio?

OK, so here we go. Due to The Worst-SnowStorm-all-Winter occurring at The Very Tail End of the Non-Tourist Season, we rescheduled our "Show PRIDE in yer Brewery" Toast to neXt FRI 5/2 at 5 PM. Looking out on our deck FRI, which was clear yesterday, and seeing 12-plus-inches of new fluff, growing by the hour. I'm not even this fluffy. OK, maybe I am.

I stomped out onto the deck on SAT am and measured 17 inches of pure white stuff.
I smell a mess.

And...OK, maybe I should finally say something about the beers HeRe:

For the third time in this email...but, yes, it is THaT important :)
PRIDE toast: let's toast to recent World Beer Cup winner, PRIDE, on FRI 5/2 @ 5 PM. This is our first WBC award. We finally entered this event with 3 beers and garnered one award. 33.3xinfinity%; that's a pretty good rate of return.

WBC is now the biggest beer competition in the world. Stats: 2864 beers entered from 644 breweries representing 57 countries; 91 beer style categories; WBC entries are up 29% since 2006; WBC is only done every second [even] year. If you are taking NoTes on where we win any-kinda-competition, U will notice that "other" and "experimental" and "wood- or barrel-aged" are common threads. Go figuRe!

We've got a big line-up for MAY. If you haven't noticed, the beers/dates are listed in the left-side column. American Craft Beer Week is MAY 12 - 18 so look for beers/events in yer area. MSBC is bringing out the BiG GuNs on FRI 5/16: two Imperial Stouts: Berserker [brewed in 2006] and Sloth [brewed in early 2007]. These two beers are oak-aged and completely wonderful. The diff is in the yeasts, one is Belgian and the other is NoT. WARNING: if you are easily offended, do NOT click on the CLERKS link for it takes you to Utube, which shows the part of the Clerks movie in which Olaf sings the Berserker song...and, really, it's NoT for everyone. [Mom, I'm talking to you specifically right now.] The song is big, bad and irreverent...but it so inspired a BiG beer of like. Ultimately, it's your call; click where you want to click.

If ya still JoT, jot down these beer release dates...or use yer favorite electronic device to download yer mail but do whatever it takes to keep these beer dates close to yer ♥. It will mean a lot to me...especially because I am not convinced you're ever going to get this ale-mail in a format that you can see/read/feel. Oh, brother. Do I hear an AMen!

You know I mean iT: the BeeR is aLways BoLD.
